Louise Poole
Mezzo-soprano
Born in North Yorkshire, Louise studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and at the National Opera Studio. Her many awards include the Sir Nicholas John and Peter Stuyvesant scholarships, the Sybil Tutton Prize and The Glyndebourne Wessex award.
Louise made her operatic debut as Tina in The Aspern Papers by Dominic Argento while still at the Guildhall, where other roles included Florence Pike - Albert Herring, Solokha - The Tsarina's Shoes and Euryclée in Faure's Penelope. Other appearances include Nancy - Albert Herring, Flora - La Traviata and Third Lady - The Magic Flute with Glyndebourne Touring Opera, Carmen at the Royal Albert Hall for Raymond Gubbay and Olga in Eugene Onegin at English National Opera.
Concert engagements include Handel's Dixit Dominus and Vivaldi´s Gloria at St John's Smith Square, Stravinsky's Le Faune et La Bergére at The Adrian Boult Hall, a fund-raising gala at Buckingham Palace in the presence of HRH The Prince of Wales, and Mozart's Requiem in Canterbury Cathedral.
Future engagements include Hippolyta in A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Glyndebourne Festival, Ruggiero in Alcina for English Touring Opera, Handel's Messiah in the Royal Albert Hall and a recording of Elgar's The Apostles. |
