David Stout
Baritone
A former Head Chorister of Westminster Abbey, David spent his formative years in Cambridge, Uppingham, and Mafikeng, South Africa. After studying Zoology at Durham University he joined the choir of St. John's College, Cambridge. With funding from the John Hosier Music Trust Scholarship he went onto to complete the Opera Course at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama studying with Rudolf Piernay. David has also participated in masterclasses led by Sir Thomas Allen and Graham Johnston.
His extensive concert repertoire includes: Bach's Passions, Handel's Messiah, Rossini's La Petite Messe Solennelle, Verdi's Requiem, Berlioz's Messe Solennelle, Carl Orff's Carmina Burana and Dvorak's Stabat Mater. David's operatic roles include the title role of Eugene Onegin, Count Almaviva - La Nozze di Figaro, Escamillo - Carmen, Ankerstrom - Masked Ball, Captain Corcoran - HMS Pinafore, Giuseppe - The Gondoliers, Giorgio Germont - La Traviata, Prince Yeletsky - Queen of Spades, Scarpia - Tosca and Belcore - The Elixir of Love.
Future plans include Mahler's Des Knaben Wunderhorn, A Child of our Time in King's College Chapel and the St. Matthew Passion in Salisbury Cathedral. |
