Richard Smith

Richard Smith is a well known and highly respected figure within the commercial property industry, both regionally and nationally, having started his career as a surveyor with a national firm and become an equity partner early on in his career.

A director of the Warwick Arts Society for some five years, Richard has a diverse interest in music and is a passionate patron of the Arts.

In 1991 he established his own agency practice - Grenville Smith & Duncan with offices in both Birmingham and Leeds, which he ran for over a decade until its sale in 2002, enabling him to concentrate on his new company - Opus Land - specialising in property development and asset management.

Recently voted Midlands Developer of the Year by industry colleagues, Opus Land is now regarded as one of the foremost commercial developers in the West Midlands and West Yorkshire.

Married with two grown-up children, Richard lives close to Stratford-upon-Avon as well as spending much of his time in Cornwall.

In addition to his enthusiasm for listening to music, he is also a keen collector of classic cars.
