Shakespeare Lions and Orchestra of the Swan give fundraising concert in aid of the Stratford-upon-Avon Samaritans
On 20 September 2008 Orchestra of the Swan will be giving a special fundraising concert
to support the Stratford-upon-Avon Samaritans: Mozart & the Movies.
The event is being promoted by and was the brainchild of the Shakespeare Lions.
“We were approached by the Shakespeare Lions
earlier this year and it is a fantastic way to support
such a worthy cause. The programme we have chosen includes some of Mozart’s most beautiful work and
we hope to have a capacity audience enjoying fantastic music in
aid of a great cause." |
The programme features some of Mozart’s most popular and moving work including Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, the slow movement from the Clarinet Concerto and the Concerto for Flute and Harp. All of these works have been used to fantastic effect in films as diverse as Out of Africa, Ace Ventura and of course, Mozart’s own biopic Amadeus.
