An all day, interactive family workshop.
Using mixed media, participants create giant graphic (pictorial) music scores to be interpreted by Explorchestra® musicians there and then. Every piece is unique, every performance a journey into the unknown!
This programme was devised for Compton Verney Art Gallery (The Peter Moores Foundation) as part of the Spring Sounds Festival 2008.
Through Explorchestra, Orchestra of the Swan aims to
- Maintain a strategic and cohesive approach to education project planning
- Develop specialised schemes to meet the needs of growing number of clients
- Raise the profile of the orchestra as a provider of quality educational activity
- Offer positive after-school leisure activity to young people
- Maintain a high standard of education activity by continuing to create opportunities for player training
- Support the work of schools and other education providers
- Develop mutually rewarding partnerships with community organisations
