Explorchestra®
Orchestra of the Swan makes high quality live performance easily accessible to everyone, regardless of age, location or ability.
To achieve this, we developed Explorchestra to allow our friendly, approachable and lively performers to get to know you better, and for you to get to know us.
Did you know that among our players there are two jazz singers, a double bass builder, a cross country runner, a composer, several football fans, a marathon runner, a ‘Bergerac’ enthusiast, a Crufts dog owner, two motorcyclists and a cartoonist?
In addition to the unexpected, we have all the skills you expect from a professional orchestra with many experienced instrumental teachers, workshop and masterclass leaders, a number of established duos, a jazz quartet (Swan Unbuttoned), and a wind quintet.
Explorchestra presents everything from a single performer to full orchestra as an exciting, user-friendly resource which is genuinely accessible to all. We’ll come to you if you can’t come to us, so location or (dis)ability needn’t stand in your way.
Explorchestra projects cover nursery, primary and secondary schools, special schools (including pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties), adult daycare and residential settings (including clients with dementia), adult leisure clubs, hospices, youth groups, and the Midday Music illustrated rehearsal series in Stratford upon Avon.
Talk to us first about your project ideas. We recognize that every setting is unique, and we tailor each activity to your own circumstances. We can, and do, write bespoke projects to suit individual clients’ requirements.
