John Ireland’s lush, romantic Piano Concerto was staple repertoire in the BBC Proms for many years and OOTS’ recording with Mark Bebbington under conductor David Curtis has received outstandingm critical acclaim. Vaughan Williams’ Wasps Overture provides a fizzing opening and his romantic and gentle Fifth Symphony concludes the evening.
